When spaces successfully stage brands, every interior piece has a strong individual character while contributing to the same overall vision. With carpet design and craftsmanship being our core competences and great passions, we love to help co-create spaces by translating brand identities to the floor. One of the largest architectural surfaces, the floor is a strong storyteller literally making the foundation for any experience you want to create.
With our Highline concept, the carpet becomes a medium for storytelling by offering a white canvas on which any design vision can come to life through unlimited customisation. From our Highline Designer Collections or Highline Express Collections you can, alternatively, pick your favourite style and order it in a 'true to the original' version or personalise your curated pattern through recolouration. Regardless of how you wish to materialise your story, our Ege Design Studio experts are always on hand to share their comprehensive know-how and expertise throughout the process.
Now, let's explore two new and impressive French projects to see how holistically planned concepts can turn spaces into experiences.
The recently reopened Lido 2 on the Champs-Elysées in Paris is once again shining in full splendour. Founded in 1946 and moved to a new location on the well-known avenue in 1977, the legendary cabaret theatre closed in July 2022 to undergo an elaborate renovation.
As illustrated above and below, fashion and interior designer Alexis Mabille completely redesigned the famous theatre and transformed it into a sensual yet dramatic oasis seething with beauty and energy.
In collaboration with our Ege Design Studio, Mabille and the creative team from his studio, Beaubow Paris, custom designed carpet especially for this project. Utilising our freedom of design in terms of pattern and colour choice led to an overwhelming result since flaming red floral carpet in Art Nouveau style now adorns the floors in the auditorium and the well-assorted bar while completing the intense cabaret theatre experience.
In addition, a more graphic carpet pattern keeps up the guests' excitement after the show, when carefully guiding them throughout the venue and towards the exit. Going all-in on textures, motifs and dramatic effects on all architectural surfaces, a unique experience truly awaits in each room. Just wow!
Close to the Arc de Triumph and just behind the magnificent Art Nouveau façade by architect Louis Marnez, the luxurious Parisian boutique hotel Miss Fuller has welcomed guests since September 2024. The hotel's namesake, Miss Loïe Fuller, was a dazzling artist and protagonist of the art scene in Belle Époque Paris, and so the hotel concept also follows a clear artistic line.
As part of the Drawing Hotels Collection, the interior design agency NIDO teamed up with carefully curated artists to develop a delightful interior design concept that whisks away visitors into a world of creativity and elegance. Thus, one artist for instance designed each individual floor holistically when translating works of art onto carpet featuring hand-painted looks with clear references to the original art pieces.
The pattern sharpness and clarity are not least due to the high density of the soft yet extremely hard-wearing carpet, which also comes with great acoustic properties.
In addition to the individually designed rooms, the corridors and stairwells at Miss Fuller also appear as storytelling art pieces, primarily created through the harmonious interplay between the carpet creations and the beautiful wallpapers.
If you want to bring your own story to the floor, you can go for custom designed carpet with endless pattern and colour options or you can curate your favourite carpet designs from our stunning pick-and-produce collections offering a great variety of constructions, materials, patterns and colours – and maybe even add your personal touch through recolouration.
