René Dupont, Senior Director at Ege Carpets, gives you three simple tips to help you optimise your time. For one thing, you can opt for a carpet with an integrated underlay. René Dupont explains:
"By choosing this, instead of a traditional, woven textile backing which normally requires a separate underlay and a double-stick installation, you can now install the carpet directly to the floor, saving time, weight, cost – and the environment!"
Secondly, you can opt for a carpet that is produced with adapted width. So you don’t need to find the time – or the space – to cut the carpet down to your requirements on-site.
Finally, René Dupont suggests, have your carpet pre-cut to fit certain areas, such as cabins, before installation. Pre-cut carpets save a lot of time and are also easy to install while the vessel is in-service, if needed.
